Caldwell curates: Booktique

People always speak about how magical it is to get lost in Rome, because one can stumble upon these picturesque streets that transport one back in time. This is all very lucky for me because I am actually dreadful at directions and getting lost comes naturally to me.  One evening I decided to set out to try Frigidarium, which is a gelato shop with a legendary reputation. I arrived and much to my dismay it was closed for the month. As I sadly wandered home, I saw a shining beacon ahead of me: Booktique.

Booktique is a beautifully curated book and décor store. It is decorated primarily in blacks and whites. There is a fantastic range of coffee table books along with great gifts or just completely unique items that you didn't realize you needed until the moment you saw it. One of my favorite things I saw was a banana lamp, which my mother described as phallic looking, but I thought of as a quirky addition to any room. They have beautiful Palm prints and unique looking sunglasses and reading glasses. The selection of items shows a thoughtfulness that is often rare in gift or book stores. Whenever I walked by, I couldn’t stop myself from walking in and taking a peak. I only wished I had more room (and funds) for all the stunning books. Here is a link to the store if you wish to visit!
